Day +169: Run, Robin, run!

* Raise riches for resources with rock star Robin * My poor cousin Robin, who only ever really wanted to be a rock star, has gone and got himself signed up to run around Wembley Park on Sunday – and all for a very good cause. Inspired by my plight, progress and persistence, he will be taking part … Continue reading Day +169: Run, Robin, run!

Day +129: Taking control

On Tuesday I had the enormous joy of spending the afternoon with my super-sweet twin nephew and niece, Innes and Matilda, having previously only met them briefly in Oxford the other weekend at their joint christening (at which gorgeous UK-based nephew Benedict was also splashed and blessed). Between accidentally putting squished fruit up Innes's nose, returning Matilda … Continue reading Day +129: Taking control

Day +29: Isn’t life strange? A musical interlude

Heavily boosted by a large Costa cappuccino smuggled in by Mariacristina, I've been bursting with energy and positivity this afternoon and felt an urge to share some of it with my merry band of blog followers before the caffeine high wears off. Make something foolproof…

George in t-shirt standing on a pontoon next to turquoise water, with a beach in the background…and they’ll invent a better fool.

I’m living life because I’m alive (woohoo!) – despite the best efforts of cancer. At the end of October 2005, I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, at the age of 23.

Since then, I’ve recovered (2008), ‘survived’ (2013), relapsed (2013), had a stem cell transplant (2014) and recovered again (ongoing).

And I’m still here, thanks to amazing medical staff, bacon sandwiches, wonderful friends and family, my fabulous wife Mariacristina, a handy preference for taking things as they come and my superstar donor Tim.

A lot of it’s here, but I’d love to tell you more – I’m a writer and a speaker and love to share my story, so get in touch if we can do some good together.
