Just about to leave for hospital (only an hour after we planned to go - oops) - will be in there at least for a week to begin with, though it could be three or four. I'm just not quite sure. Do give me a bell if you're going to visit: my father will post … Continue reading Earwig go again
Stuff and stuff
I'm heading back into hospital tomorrow (they do have a bed for me, apparently) and will once again try to reduce how much I take in, so I shall be leaving a number of borrowed books, DVDs and videos chez moi here in Southbourne... I'm very slowly working my way through them (through the books … Continue reading Stuff and stuff
I was chatting to James Brown the other day
I don't think I've mentioned yet that since coming home I've been feeling better than I have for ages. It's lovely, though I realise it doesn't make me clear or change the fact that I'll be going in again soon and still have a fair bit to get through. The last month or so was … Continue reading I was chatting to James Brown the other day
Où sont les neiges d’antan?
"Hallo, Eeyore," said Christopher Robin, as he opened the door and came out. "How are you?""It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily."So it is.""And freezing.""Is it?""Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately."'Pooh Builds a House', from The House at Pooh Corner (A A Milne)
Dilemma
I think it's called continuing or maintenance therapy, what I've been referring to generally as Phase 3, or perhaps that's just the further chemo option. Hopefully (fingers etc crossed) this most recent bone marrow test will show I'm in remission, and after this intensification therapy and I think another bit (CNS, I think it's called, … Continue reading Dilemma

This was taken about a week before Christmas.Other photos from the day can be found on this page. That was the day lots of OMV friends visited after having been to the Christmas Reunion - they were consequently very tired and amusing (and easily amused) - … Continue reading Look!
Email overload
One does stockpile rather a number of emails when one is offline (as I believe young folk call it) for a month or two, so for quite some time I have been digging through them all, unsubscribing from emails sent by all those travel companies and CD shops who are so eager to let me … Continue reading Email overload
Woo-yippididoo-la-la!
Je suis chez moi.Hurrah! After a tough second half of Phase 2 ('twas pretty horrid), then that blasted infection (even horrider: the Monday it kicked in was probably the most unpleasant day I've had), an even stronger aversion to hospital food, much bed-swapping, nasty side-effects from the antibiotics and a great difficulty in sleeping well … Continue reading Woo-yippididoo-la-la!
Second attempt..
George has now been given the go-ahead to come home until Monday 6 Feb. I'm driving up in just a minute to collect him, while the repaired central heating works hard to get the house back up to temperature........
Umm ..
Slight change of plan! As George's temperature has risen, his trip home has been delayed. Update tomorrow. He was due back in hospital on Thursday, so it will be an even shorter 'holiday'. Incidentally, he had to move out of his room today for an emergency admission, and, at this stage, I do not know … Continue reading Umm ..
